New BMC stemming from renewable resources

SpecialChem / Jun 21, 2006

On the occasion of the last JEC Conference, researchers of the French research laboratory of Menzolit, a Bulk Molding Compounds (BMC) and Sheet Molding Compound (SMC) producer, have announced that they have developed the first generation of BMC materials nearly entirely made of renewable and natural growing materials of the world. These new composites namely Bio-BMC are still experimental materials but they could have interesting properties according to the researchers. Expected applications include automotive parts and consumer goods.
