A new conveying-system controller by AEC Inc. that can handle up to 24 vacuum conveying pumps, 128 loading stations, and 128 purge valves makes use of enhanced graphics to make the system more versatile and simple to use. The VacTrac Series 24/128 controller uses a DeviceNet distributed I/O network and Allen-Bradley CompactLogix controller with color touch screen, operator interface that provides full navigational control of the central vacuum system. The set-up screen gives the user the ability to name each loading station, pump, purge valve, and material source so operators know exactly where each hopper is located and what it contains. Operation diagnostics, and installation instructions as well as spare parts information are also all available from the touch screen.Manifold sharing capabilities allow the 24/128 to reduce tubing and purge valves costs and can stage and sequence six vacuum pumps per manifold line. The control system can assign each loading station to any of the pumps connected to the same manifold.
