New flame retardant complying with the European RoHS directive

The American firm Albemarle Corp, a specialist in specialty chemicals and plastics additives, has announced the launch of Saytex® 102HP, a new decabromodiphenyl ether (DecaBDE) based flame retardant. This new product has been developed in order to comply with the European directive regarding the restriction on the use of hazardous substances i.e. RoHS directive. Expected applications include electronic and electrical components such as circuit boards and connectors, wire and cables, automotive parts, rigid insulation foam and also enclosures.
