New Low-Warp LCP Ideal for Thin-Wall, Fast-Cycle High-Temp, Precision-Molded Electronics

SpecialChem / Apr 2, 2009

Resins like polyester-based liquid-crystal polymers (LCPs)are extremely inert, have excellent chemical resistance, good dilectric strength, low permeation, inherent halogen-free flame retardance, high thermal performance and great stiffness. These properties make LCPs excellent for precision E/E components, particularly for high-temperature, chemically aggressive environments (e.g. automotive underhood) or where high stiffness in thin-wall design is important. Ticona Engineering Polymers has developed a new grade said to have lower warpage thanks to a proprietary formulation that includes a combination of less-anisotropic mineral and glass reinforcement.
