New polyamide grade specially designed for connectors

SpecialChem / Aug 29, 2006

The Dutch materials producer DSM Engineering Plastics has developed a new high flow polyamide-4,6 (PA-4,6) grade specially designed for the connectors applications. The new grade namely Stanyl® 46SF5030 is reinforced with 30% glass fiber. It combines a high processability thanks to its high fluidity, a high tensile strength and a high ductibility and also a high thermal resistance. It can be used for ultra-thin wall products. Expected applications include connectors for LCD screens, laptops, mobile phones, DVD players, MP3 players, PDA devices and so on. Moreover the Stanyl® 46SF5030 grade complies with the RoHs European directive regarding the restriction of hazardous substances uses and suits for lead-free soldering processes.
