This report covers U.S. patents that issued during the period full year 2005 until 20 October 2006. Around 64 patents had the terms "polyurethane" in their claims. This report discusses new compositions or compounds. Some end use applications of interest were also noted if they were general. One obvious caveat is that if for example somebody patented a polyurethane or application without using the word in the claims, then this search would not have caught it.For example Acushnet company claims in U.S. 6,989,422 a golf ball comprising: a core; and a cover layer comprising a curing agent and a polyurethane prepolymer formed from a polyisocyanate and a monodisperse telechelic polyol having a polydispersity of from about 1.0 to about 1.3, and having a specific formula. The formula contains at least one molecule or mixtures of molecules having at least two independently polymerized vinyl groups, and a hydrogenated or unsaturated block derived by anionic polymerization of at least one monomer selected from the group consisting of conjugated dienes, alkenyl-substituted aromatics, and mixtures thereof. Similar claims appear in U.S. 6,992,139.
