Surgical Equipment and Instrument Trends

SpecialChem / Jul 15, 2008

The Cassi rotational core biopsy product, manufactured by Sanarus Medical is an automated large-core biopsy device used to extract biopsy samples of breast and other soft tissues in the diagnosis of disease. Cassi's patented Stick-Freeze technology is used to immobilize the target tissue, making it unnecessary to purchase costly capital equipment. The self-contained device enables a large core breast biopsy to be performed in the doctor's office. The ergonomically designed, Moldflow optimized, Sanarus device with PC/ABS (polycarbonate/acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) housing uses compressed CO2 to produce a mild stick freeze effect that holds the breast lesion in place.
