Rilsan® Polyamide 11 Powder, the Blockbuster Bio-based Solution for powder bed fusion in Additive Manufacturing

The development of serial production generates demand for thermoplastic powders with enhanced mechanical properties and greater durability, but also good chemical resistance and compliance with various regulations. The challenge, therefore, is to leverage polymer powder bed fusion technology for sustainable production of specific parts with high mechanical properties.

The Rilsan® Invent range of 100% bio-based polyamide 11 (PA11) fine powders specially developed for 3D printing is fast becoming one of the key materials for additive manufacturing. Advanced Bio-Circular Rilsan® PA11 fine powders display superior resilience and longevity, making it the favored choice for the creation of final-production parts of additive manufacturing. The thermoplastic polymer is produced from a sustainably sourced renewable feedstock as the amino 11 monomer, a precursor to PA11, is produced from castor oil, extracted from seeds of the castor plant.
