Demand for LED lighting systems continues to grow rapidly due to their energy saving potential as well as new regulations. For manufacturers of these lights, it is a good time to identify new materials and technologies that can offer significant savings by reducing manufacturing complexity and logistics.

Momentum is building to replace aluminum with heat-conducting thermoplastics in fixed and mobile applications. Recent improvements in thermally conductive plastics, combined with a novel manufacturing technology, offer a new option for manufacturers.
