Udel® P-1720

Udel® P-1720 by Solvay is a hydrolytically stable, colorable, biocompatible polysulfone (PSU). It possesses good surface finish, toughness, strength, high rigidity and good dimensional stability. This grade exhibits good chemical-, acid-, alcohol-, alkali-, hydrocarbon-, detergent and high heat resistance. Udel® P-1720 shows creep-, steam and radiation (gamma) resistance. It offers good sterilizability to autoclave, electron beam, ethylene oxide, heat, steam and radiation. Provides stable electrical properties over a wide temperature range and after immersion in water or exposure to high humidity. This grade can be processed by blow molding-, pipe-, sheet-, film & profile extrusion, injection blow molding, thermoforming and machining. It is recommended for appliances & appliance components, microwave cookware, automotive electronics and food service applications. Can also be used in electrical parts, electronic applications, industrial parts and plumbing parts such as fittings, valves or valve parts. Further applications include dental, medical/ healthcare such as medical devices, surgical instruments and hospital goods. Complies with FDA 21 CFR 177.1655 and RoHS. Udel® P-1720 meets with the requirements of ISO 10993, ISO 10993 Part 1, NSF 61 (tested at 82°C, commercial hot) and NSF 51 (max. temperature of use 149°C).
