3M™ Dyneon™ Fluoroelastomer BRE 7231 by 3M-Dyneon is a bisphenol cured, base resistant fluoroelastomer containing 60% fluorine. It is a terpolymer of tetrafluoroethylene propylene and vinylidene fluoride categorized as a type 4 FKM per ASTM D1418. It is soluble in ketones and esters. Exhibits improved low temperature sealing performance, excellent processability and metal adhesion. Offers improved resistance to chemicals, high amine containing oils and lubes, coolants and transmission fluids as compared to Type 1 and Type 2 FKMs. It is suitable for processing by injection, transfer and compression molding. Possible applications of 3M™ Dyneon™ Fluoroelastomer BRE 7231 include engine, transmission and cylinder head gaskets. Complies with ISO 9001/ QS-9000 regulation.
