Quantum Forged Preg™ 8585 NT by LyondellBasell is a vinyl ester hybrid composite reinforced with 55% w/w 12K PAN bi-axial continuous mat carbon fiber. It can be molded at temperatures in the range of 260-310°F, with 280°F suggested as a starting point. This grade possesses fatigue resistance, high stiffness and high strength. Its cure time depends on molding temperature and part thickness. It is processed by sheet molding. Quantum Forged Preg™ 8585 NT has a shelf life of 2 months.
