RTP 2183 HEC is a 20% nickel-coated carbon fiber reinforced, electrically conductive polyetherimide (PEI). Offers high strength and rigidity at elevated temperatures, EMI/RFI/ESD protection, long term heat resistance, dimensional stability and good electrical properties which show excellent stability under variable temperature, humidity and frequency conditions. It has outstanding dimensional stability and inherent flame retardancy. It resists chemicals, such as hydrocarbons, alcohols and halogenated solvents. Creep resistance over the long term allows PEI to replace metal and other materials in many structural applications. Processed by injection molding. Recommended for stationary and handheld work lights, instrument housings, electronic parts handling totes, housings, fittings and components for fuel dispensers, conveyor rollers and guides. Can also be used for automotive applications like instrumental panels, sunroofs, seating, airbag retainers, door systems, fuel systems, pedal boxes, sensor housing, front end modules, drivetrain and shifter bases.
