EXTEM™ UH1019

EXTEM™ UH1019 is an unfilled, amorphous thermoplastic polyimide (TPI) resin. Offers outstanding heat resistance, chemical resistance, high strength and good processability. Is a recyclable and halogen free flame retardant grade with a high glass transition temperature. Achieves a continuous use temperature rating of 260°C according to UL 746B. Exhibits superior mechanical properties and eight times better stiffness as compared to PEEK as well as superior creep and extreme low thermal expansion performance. Has the potential to replace ceramic and metal in applications where thermoplastics are not suitable. Requires no post-cure or crystallization or cross-linking steps to yield maximum performance. Provides an excellent balance of low smoke emission and toxicity. Enables designing of products having high dimensional stability and lower weight than metals or thermosets. Processed by injection molding and extrusion and suitable for producing thin walls and complex shapes. Applications include aerospace industry, wire and cable insulation, high performance connectors and accessories, semicon plasma chamber components and pickup systems, high heat film, bearing cages, gears, membranes, stockshapes and composites.
