Xencor™ XTreme

Xencor™ XTreme by Solvay is a long glass fiber polyphthalamide (PPA) solution for battery applications requiring resistance to thermal runaway and propagation. It is produced with partially bio-based content and 100% renewable electricity. It retains an excellent level of electrical insulation, helping to mitigate and protect thermal runaway in batteries. It offers high stiffness, strength, impact resistance and dielectric strength.

• It has a high glass transition temperature (Tg) which enables dimensional stability of the parts under battery operating conditions.
• It exhibits superior resistance to direct flame exposure at 1000°C for over 10 minutes, providing sufficient time for passengers to exit the vehicle in the event of a thermal runaway.
• Xencor™ XTreme is suitable for battery components such as over molded busbars, module end plates and fixtures.
