SUMIKASUPER LCP E4009 by Sumitomo Chemical is a low warpage, high rigidity and ultra-high heat resistant thermotropic liquid crystalline polyester (LCP) grade reinforced with 45% glass fiber. It is suitable for processing by injection molding. It exhibits high strength, increased light transmittance, high heat aging resistance, low viscosity, high moldability, low shrinkage and excellent reflow performance. It offers a high-speed setting with less flash production, high anisotropy, low weld strength, rapid solidification speed, excellent flame retardancy, low water absorbency, highest limiting oxygen index and high thermal stability. It provides outstanding chemical resistance, hot water resistance, low amount of gas generation on heating, bondability with off-the-shelf adhesives and no surface treatment. It shows high temperature and high shear rate dependence on apparent melt viscosity. It does not expand or deteriorate when exposed to oils, even at high temperatures. It is welded with ultrasonic welding and applicable to lead-free soldering (dipping). SUMIKASUPER LCP E4009 is used in relay cases.
