APEX® SCR™ Compounds

APEX® SCR™ Compounds are easy to process PVC (polyvinyl chloride) grades. These exhibit good heat stability, rigidity, toughness, and clarity. Offer cost savings compared with resins that may be over-engineered for application. Apex SCR rigid PVC grades take a week to two and half weeks or more to exhibit stress cracking, far longer than the few hours recorded for test samples consisting of conventional rigid PVC or PC widely used in medical devices. Suitable for replacing PC in clear medical components such as connectors and check valves, obtaining comparable strength and excellent clarity while reducing or eliminating stress cracking that often occurs in clear plastics at interface with flexible PVC components such as tubing. Recommended for Y-connectors, cannulae, check valves, male 7 female Luer fittings, suction Yankauers, filter housings and drip chambers & caps. Meets biocompatibility standards like ISO 10993-1.
