Pp3d-filament-newRecreus has launched a PP·3D polypropylene filament for 3D printing, which is a high-impact, chemical-resistant and durable polypropylene that is very easy to print and boasts an excellent processability. All this is possible thanks to the cutting-edge ‘primer’ that comes with the PP·3D polypropylene filament, which has also been developed to apply before printing. This delivers maximum adhesion of the material onto the bed and optimal results by combining both materials.

Polypropylene Filament for Optimum Performance

PP·3D is the only solution on the market that includes a specific ‘primer’ allowing the polypropylene filament to be easily and successfully printed. The PP·3D filament spool is accompanied by a ‘primer’, which must be applied to the surface of the printer before each print to obtain the best result, thereby avoiding any problem of warping or deformation while printing the filament.

Developed together with the multinational company Repsol, PP·3D complies with European directives on food contact materials. This material, produced at an average resolution of 0.2 mm of layer height, achieves similar finishing results to injected parts.

The operating mode of the ‘primer’ is the exact opposite to any other ‘primer’ currently in the market. The Recreus PP·3D ‘primer’ reaches its maximum adhesion at 40°C and peels off at 80°C Working in low temperature with the heated bed is possible with the Recreus PP·3D, which further reduces the energy consumption and the thermal fatigue that the printer may suffer.

Properties of PP·3D Filament
  • High impact
  • Chemical resistant
  • No toxic
  • Good adhesion between printing layers
  • Easy to print
  • Low warping or deformation
  • Smooth finish
  • Autoclavable
  • Suitable for food contact
  • Durable and strong

Applications

Its chemical resistance makes it ideal for 3D printing. It can be used for bottles and containers as functional prototypes that may contain a liquid product, parts that require low friction and heat resistance. It is also suitable for high electrical resistance for good electrical insulation, industrial tools and parts, parts that must be resistant to salts, acids, solvents, greases and oils. It is ideal for other mechanical components and parts that require sealing.
