Technical Datasheet | Supplied by Dow
ELVAX™ 4260 by Dow is a high molecular weight, blend of ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) and acid terpolymer grade, filled with 28%wt vinyl acetate comonomer content and 1wt% methacrylic acid. It contains butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) antioxidant as a thermal stabilizer. It shows superior hot tack, improved grease resistance and optimum barrier properties. It imparts flex crack resistance, excellent clarity, cling, impact- and puncture resistance. It can be processed by injection molding, compounding, sheet & shape extrusion, structural foam molding, blow molding and wire coating. It can also be processed using conventional rubber processing techniques such as Banbury, two-roll milling and compression molding. ELVAX™ 4260 is recommended for sealants, coating and industrial applications. Suitable for hot melt systems where improved adhesion to polar, nonporous substrates is required. Complies with Food and Drug Administration Regulation 21 CFR 177.1330(a).
