KURARAY POVAL™ 13-88 by Kuraray is a water soluble, partially saponified, polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) grade manufactured by alcoholysis of polyvinyl acetate. Exhibits good cohesion and good adhesion to fiber, fillers and pigments. KURARAY POVAL™ 13-88 is recommended for modification of emulsion adhesives, remoistenable adhesives, protective colloid emulsion polymerization and raw material for PVOH films. Aqueous solutions of KURARAY POVAL™ can be added to polymer emulsions already stabilized with polyvinyl alcohol which results in extension of the open time, increase of the setting speed and influence on the rheology. It has a shelf life of 12 months.
