There is a transformation taking place in the global antenna market. As mobile electronic appliance devices operate at ever increasing speed, they are moving to higher frequencies. Many such devices now operate in the 1-10 GigaHertz (GHz) range, with new applications expected to run at frequencies as high as 20 GHz. Additionally, portable devices such as mobile phones are incorporating multiple applications at multiple frequencies. This is converging with marketplace demand for ever smaller devices. More antennas are being integrated with other radio frequency components or into physical housings. Antenna and other electronic component suppliers find they are under continuous pressure in terms of device real estate space and price to develop/adoption of newer technologies.
