Visico™ LE4421 / Ambicat™ LE4472

Visico™ LE4421 / Ambicat™ LE4472 by Borealis is a silane crosslinkable black compound system. Visico™ LE4421 (base material) is a low density polyethylene (LDPE), polymerized with vinyl silane. Ambicat™ LE4472 is an ambient crosslinking catalyst masterbatch. The system is highly active and crosslinks quickly at ambient conditions, in sauna or in hot water. The final product contains 2.2% of fine size carbon black ensuring excellent weatherability. It offers excellent processability, storage stability, outstanding curing rates, excellent surface finish and no volatiles. The insulation system exhibits excellent thermo-oxidative stability in contact with copper and aluminium. It is designed for processing by PVC/PE extrusion. Visico™ LE4421 / Ambicat™ LE4472 is recommended for covering/insulation of overhead cables and low voltage energy cables (range up to 6 kV).
