RTP Company at NPE2015: To Feature Low Emission PP VLF Range for Auto & Tribology Data

Published on 2015-02-03. Author : SpecialChem

WINONA, MINNESOTA, USA -- RTP Company, one among the leading global compounders of custom engineered thermoplastics, is exhibiting at NPE2015: International Plastics Showcase from March 23- 27 at the Orlando Conference Center in Orlando, Florida. Located in Booth #28080 in the South Hall, RTP Company will feature an assortment of successful applications created from its engineered thermoplastics. Highlighted this year will be the release of unique tribology data for designers of medical devices to assist with thermoplastics selection, and a line of low emission Very Long Fiber reinforced Polypropylene for use in automotive interiors.

During the show, RTP Company engineers will offer new data for the healthcare industry based on an innovative friction test designed to accurately predict friction behavior in single-use devices. Using this new test method, RTP Company engineers tested base resins in a variety of combinations with friction reducing additives. The data collected from these tests can eliminate trial and error testing when choosing polymers for single-use medical devices. Furthermore, with proper material selection, single-use devices will perform more consistently without the need for external lubrication and the associated extra processing steps, thereby decreasing manufacturing costs and time-to-market.

In addition, representatives from RTP Company will be available to discuss the recent expansion of its Very Long Fiber reinforced Polypropylene (PP VLF) portfolio to include a range of low emission thermoplastic compounds. These PP VLF products satisfy Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) mandates to reduce the Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) levels found in thermoplastic materials specified for use in automotive interior applications. International legislation and automotive OEMs have identified the need to reduce odor, fogging, and total VOCs to improve air quality and the safety of vehicle interiors.
